After a new survey from the U-S Department of Agriculture it showed that several areas they`re calling food deserts in the Rogue Valley. The U-S-D-A defines food deserts as areas where people have only a limited or no access to higher quality food at a good price. Many of these food deserts don't have large grocery stores so they have to get most of their food from small convenience stores. Many government agencies are working together to end these food deserts.

Home Ownership

Since the housing meltdown nearly three million home owners have become renters of their house`s, and that number is expected to grow. After a study it shows that home ownership is at an all time low. According to the census it shows that by 2015 it is expected that about 3 million are going to choose to rent there homes. Some people feel that buying a home is no longer an investment but more of a burden.

After 10 years of hiding, the infamous Osama Bin Laden was finally taken down. He was well known for commanding the terrorist attack known as 9/11 in 2001. Late the night of March 3rd, 2011 two NAVY S.E.A.L. teams went to Osama`s compound. The first S.E.A.L team got shot down right outside of Osama`s compound but the second helicopter made it past and deployed the team outside the building. The team gave him a chance to surrender peacefully but Osama ignored them and opened fire. The S.E.A.L.`s had no choice but to fire back and eventually they killed Osama Bin Laden.

news for 4/27/2011

In an interview with the owner of the Medford Guitar Center he confirmed that they will be closing by the end of the year. Over two hundred employees are either going to be out of a job or relocated to another location. It is reported that the affected employees have or will be given relocation packages. The company  says they`re not sure what they will be doing with the building once they leave.

Huff expected to take a stand.
Today was the third day of trial for a Medford man named Clayton Huff who was accused of shooting at a car salesman during a test drive. Court officials say that Clayton Huff was accused of shooting at salesman Robert Johnson. The prosecution brought forth more that 10 people to testify. His lawyer said that his client was merely using self defense against Johnson. He claims that he was attacked when he wouldn't buy a car.

news for 4/12/2011

Four people were saved after their boat flipped upside down in the Rogue River Saturday morning. Two of the people were tossed from the boat awaiting rescue on a couple of rocks while the other two people, the driver and the passenger, were carried farther down the river but were later rescued. The driver suffered minor injuries but the other three passengers had no injuries.
